Icarus flew too close to the sun,

But surely Zeus could have made it undone.

Surely Mars could simply stay his hand,

And Posideon hold back his wrath from the sands.

Oedipus was born of no evil will,

And yet Antigone was destined to suffer still.

Were the men on a thousand ships worth Helen’s face?

Is the folly of man just a recycled Greek play?
